As of June 2020, Elon Musks SpaceX has launched 500 Starlink low earth orbit satellites to provide higher-speed internet to remote parts of the earth and connect all mankind to the internet. SpaceX plan to launch a satellite every two weeks to reach a total, of 12,000 satellites with a possible extension later to 42,000.
